Coming out was the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. The pressures of the heteronormative small town I grew up in was overwhelming. One evening I was sitting outside with my friend and a shooting star flew across the sky. In that moment I had this profound realization that I wasn’t living my honest life and that I was stifling my true being. The process was lengthy and difficulty, loosing many friends and a profound relationship with my grandmother whose homophobia was too much to work through. This Midwest boy has been through a lot and has a soft heart for those struggling with being true to themselves. It is my hope that this post reaches more to those not just looking for a butt pic, but to those who want to celebrate their diversity and be welcomed into a very tender community.
